Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data idle (“idle”, “we”) collects when you use this website and the idle platform, why, and what you can do about it. To exercise any right below, use the contact form on this site.
What we collect
- Email signups. Your email and the GPUs you choose, to send price alerts; and, if you tick the box, the biweekly GPU Brief newsletter.
- Design partner and contact forms. Email, company, monthly GPU spend range and your message.
- Account data. When you sign in with Google: your name, email and profile picture.
- Workspace data. The usage and endpoint data you upload. See Security for the full list; it does not include prompts or model outputs.
- Usage analytics. Cookie-free page and click statistics (PostHog): pages viewed, buttons used, browser and approximate country. Nothing is stored on your device. Anonymous visits build no profile; when you are signed in to the platform, PostHog links what you do there to your account email and name.
Why
- To provide the service you asked for: alerts, the newsletter, your workspace dashboards (contract or consent).
- To reply to design partner and contact requests (legitimate interest, at your request).
- To keep the service secure and working (legitimate interest).
We don’t sell personal data and don’t use it for advertising.
Every signup is double opt-in: nothing is sent until you confirm. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link. Alerts and the newsletter are separate; unsubscribing from one keeps the other unless you choose “all emails”.
Who processes data for us
- Railway (hosting and database).
- Resend (sending email).
- Google (sign-in).
- PostHog (cookie-free product analytics).
How long we keep it
Signup data until you unsubscribe from everything; account and workspace data while your account exists, and deleted on request; contact requests for up to 24 months.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to its use, and take it elsewhere. If you’re in the EU or UK you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Cookies
We only set the cookies needed to keep you signed in to the platform and to remember your theme choice in your browser. No advertising or tracking cookies.
